in the classroom...
Audition??? For School?!

Auditioning for a University Theatre Program is not too different than a regular audition. But there are a few added treats that you should know about. First of all, do your homework and find out what the audition requirements are: i.e. two monologues of contrasting character, vocal selections, whatever... Also, find out if there are any limitations, there might be some surprising ones. The more you are prepared from the start, the better your audition will be!

About this area
This turned out to be a monster of a subject for just one section, so I made it into a whole area unto itself. Each separate article can stand alone, and they are connected for easy navigation. Contained within this area is a world of knowledge. I do not know all there is to know. I myself have experienced all that I write about, but I also did MY homework and read lots of books to get the extra information I needed. I expect the same from you. Check out the Theatre section of a large bookstore. There you will find many books that go into great detail to answer all your detailed questions. My purpose is to familiarize you with the PROCESS of the audition so that you will be prepared and know what to expect. For it is only with preparation that you will succeed.
